I've been getting quite a few emails from Xbox Live Indie Game developers asking me to either post about their game or review it for the site. I'd be glad to do either, but I need more than an email asking for a post about your game.
I realize that a lot of Indie Developers are new to things like press releases and review copies of games. So, here is a quick run down of what I'm looking for.
Press Releases
I would be glad to post about your upcoming or newly released Xbox Live Indie, or Arcade, game. However, when you email me please send a press release that describes the game, when you plan for it to release (assuming it has not already), and contact info. Additionally, if you want people to ready the press release please include some media. A trailer is preferred, but a logo and some screenshots or artwork is find too.
Reviews
This site is built in community reviews of games. If you have release a game on Xbox Live I'd love to check it out. However, my gaming time is limited and because of this I've recruited a few other avid Indie Game players to help join me in reviewing games. If you'd like to provide a token as a review copy of your game I will make sure that it is given a fair shake. It will be played by someone who likes that genre of game and they will post a review only after spending quality time with the game.
Giveaways/Contests
I seem to be getting more requests to host giveaways and contest for developers. I'd be glad to continue to give away copies of games that developers provide. Either here on the site or via Twitter. Just get in touch with me and we can work out the details.
Hopefully this is not coming across as harsh because I don't mean for it to. I enjoy indie games and am glad to play a small part in the gaming community, but I also have a limited amount of free time to spend. So, please keep sending me info about your game, but give me more than a sentence or two to work with.
