Worms

"Worms" is a fantastic strategy game where the object is to take out your opponent using a variety of tools readily available to you...such as machine guns, homing missiles, grenades, etc. The randomly generated terrain/landscapes make this a game that is different every time. There are also different themed landscapes you can download, but most of them cost 150 MS points (just shy of $2). The sound effects are comic-like...and they add a bit of humor to the gameplay.

Great game on it's own, but can't recommend it now that Worms 2 is out.

Worms is a great game for anyone looking for some action/strategy and some good laughs. I found that playing this game with my buddies in the same room was the best recipe for fun.

Worms single player provides the you with 20 challenges that are pretty easy in the beginning but get a lot harder in the end but it's definitely nothing you can't handle. The game also provides you with some customization options for your worms as well. You can name your team and each individual worm and you can choose their voices from a decent voice bank with voices such as the Angry Scots. You also get to choose which gravestone they get when they meet their terrible(but oh so funny) end "Oh Noes!".

Worms throws in some multiplayer mayhem as well. You can put up to 4 teams of worms on the battlefield at one time to see which team is the top worm. You can either go online to find more worm prey or get a few buddies and play on the same screen. Either way you look at it, its going to be 4 players blowing the crap out of 16 worms and plenty of laughs to go along with it.

For all you achievements junkies out there, this is an easy 200/200 arcade title. All of the single player achievements are attainable by playing all 20 challenges. The last few challenges might take a few tries but its nothing you can't handle. The multiplayer achievement is a simple play a game with 4 people win or lose.

This game will make a great addition to your arcade collection and it won't take a huge chunk from your MS wallet either. Now go blow up some worms!

Worms for XBLA just didn't capture my attention. I used to play Armageddon on Dreamcast all the time, and the original worms on Saturn as well.

This version feels like there is something missing. Maybe it's the DLC levels that Team17 is trying to nickel and dime us with.

Worms: Armageddon is coming to XBLA in the near future, so if you don't already have Worms, then I would suggest holding out until the far superior version is released.

Don't come into this thinking that this game has even half the depth of Armageddon. It's a decent standalone game, but in context of the series predecessors this is weak shit.

A fun game with a cheap price tag. A great deal of fun playing with others and just gotta love those worms.

Though it does gets old quick. If you're looking for something new though, look for Hogs of War on the PSX; all the fun of worms, but in 3D!

I love worms series, and i grew with this version on PC, the good thing is that with friends its great, but no so much if you are alone :(

One of the best/funniest strategy games there is. I totally recommend this to everyone.

Worms is a great game, but I do have to admit it's not as good as Worms Armageddon for PC. Hopefully one day they'll release it on XBLA, but I don't see it happening.

good presentation, great variety, and i love the game style, but i wish there was a little more to do sometimes. My only gripe is that some of the old features were missing and it's kind of cut down. Stillg reat though!

one of the best strategy games ever. hilarious weapons, funny all the way through. hope they release the other worms games for xbla too.

Really addictive multiplayer online or with friends. The only bad thing I can say is that at times, the computer can seem cheap. If there's an open path from them to you, they will almost always hit you.

Worms is a classic pick-up-and-play multiplayer game for people of all ages and skill levels. If you like fun, light-hearted versus play, try this one out, you will have a blast.

The only real negative is that it can get kind of repetitive after a while.. but most games do.

Ahhh, Worms. All the classic gameplay, not necessarily re-tooled but it definitely feels at home on the 360. You get multiplayer matches, ranked and not, a set of 20 challenge stages which will hurt you, and the ability to simply start up a friendly game of Worms. Like all old-school games, it doesn't take long to learn the ropes. There's a tutorial mode that'll help you along your away. But finding people to play with online is a chore and that one. damn. song. is very annoying. Honestly, that one theme. It grates on your nerves after awhile. Especially when anything will bother you to the point of throwing fire (you get to this point once you reach challenge 19). However, if you're looking for some violent worm fun, look no further. And if you can find people online to air strike, it's great being able to go to war with people. Now, they just need to go back and release some new content like more maps, more freakin' background music (anything will do), and possibly another game mode, such as playing with more than 4 worms per team. However, regardless, Worms is something I can recommend.

This was my first venture into the world of Worms. It's easy to pick up, but it's the type of game that just wants you playing more!!! Cute graphics, fun effects, this game is the best to play with a couple of buddies.
The weapons are memomarble (The sheep, bannana bomb) and the levels can be quite complex. A great party game, this is a go for everyone out there!

Before this released I had not played Worms since I was in high school. The simple, but addictive, gameplay is still there. The updated graphics look good and fit the game's fun goofy style.

What really makes the game fun is the weapons. They have the standard guns like the Uzi and Shotgun, but it the unique items that really make Worms fun. If you're use to playing an older version of Worms you will notice some of the weapons have been removed, but for those people who have never played before your ignorance is bliss. The Banana Bomb, Kamikaze, and Homing Missle are still there but others like the Holy Hand Grenade are gone. The weapons that are available are great fun, but anyone old enough to have played past versions is going to notice the missing weapons.

The game allows for 4 players either locally or over Live. The controls are simple and there is a nice set of tutorials that explain how to do everything. Also, it is turn based so you don't have to worry about getting beat because you can't fight as fast as your opponent. These items make this a great game to play with non-gamers. It is not a true party game like Fuzion Frenzy or Mario Party, but it also work in that role.

I'm going to give it one thumb up and save the second thumb in case they release some download content that includes more maps and weapons.
