I, Zombie

I, Zombie is an interesting little stealth zombie puzzle game. You assume the role of a lone zombie and are trying to infect all humans on the screen. Once a human is infected, he then becomes a semi-controllable pawn for your use. The primary goal for each level is to infect everyone and get out alive to face the next stage.

The game is very cute and it is fun to play. Whonce infected, your followers movements are controlled by one of three simple commands: follow, attack or stop. Maneuvering a zombie horde is complicated and you need to strategize what you do with them. This little addition of strategy helps you overcome the soldiers that shoot you on sight. Mess up just a bit and you can lose a follower which in turn affects your star rating at the end of the level.

The biggest thing that holds the player back is when you become shot, your movements begin to slow down. Many direct attacks cannot be made by yourself against soldiers because you will be slowed to a crawl before you can even reach them. This stealth gameplay strategy really separates it from most Zombie games.

A player then has to rely on attacking in a mob, which is hard because they are a bit slower than you. It takes a certain precision to actually 3 star all the levels.

Every few levels the gameplay will differentiate itself by throwing the occasional speed challenge in the mix. During these events you are tasked to sneak past tougher soldiers to get to super scientists. It's a nice change of pace and overall the mechanics for everything hold up surprisingly well.

I, Zombie is smart and has a good feel to it. Well worth the asking price.
