Abaddon supports up to eight players per match, and when you think of other Tower Defenses on xbox, by that statement alone, it's in a league of its own.

Abaddon has you flying a lone ship, defending your 'base', the flagship Abaddon, and as you collect resources from fallen foes, you can upgrade yourself, repair Abaddon, or upgrade Abaddon's firepower. The game includes 4-player online support in all of its diverse gamemodes, and an additional player can play on each console as a fightership's beam weaponry, although the experience is so limited for the second player that it's functionally a 4-player only game. Still, 4-player is well done, and the chaos of a huge group can really rack up the points and earn a variety of neat bonuses that stick with you throughout plays.

Abaddon is a blast, and it's even better with friends. Try the demo, and then convince your Gamertag pals to buy it for some real multiplayer madness!

Hi there.

As life-long gamer I already knew at the trial, this game has got something. But I went over to other titles, unable to forget about Abaddon out of some reasons...It was right after the first startup impressing to see the sprite density and of course Abaddon, the ship I have to protect. Nice colours, nice musics, nice effects and a really good gameplay made me buy this game earlier than I would have thought :)

The combination out of DS-shooter and tower defense works pretty well. Its all about you what to upgrade in this game and at first. Shall I choose better lasers? For me? Or for Abaddon? What about a hardshell at my ship first to assist Abaddon with better weapons? Or better save some of the "green" for repairs on Abaddon just in case it gets damaged earlier than wanted?

These are just a few questions a had while playing this nice game, even in the trial version. Now with the full game no time limits hurts and I can fully enjoy Abaddon and its possibilities.

After all, a really nice addition to XBLIG! Everyone who speaks about his/herself as gamer should have a closer look on this game imo.

I have pretty high standards for this genre after growing up on games like Subspace, but I was pleasantly surprised with Abaddon's depth and addictiveness. Trying new ship, weapon and ability combos along with different game modes gives the game a whole new feel and makes it very re-playable. The ability to bring your hard earned Orbs into multi-player Co-op is also very satisfying and allows you to help your teammates achieve better scores and earn Orbs themselves.

Definitely worth checking out.

Abaddon is a fantastic approach to two oversaturated genres. It is amazingly fun to play, and with the inclusion of 4 player LIVE support, you can have some really intense shootouts! Sadly, local play is limited to 2nd player controlling the turret, so you'll just have to send your friends home so you can play them online, but it's worth it! Jump on this one and join the online fray!
