If you've played little big planet on PS3, this game is JUST like it but has a much more unique difference compared to all other platformers! Great graphics, great game, great price.

The art is very colorful and a little cartoonish but, I think any age can easily have fun in this game. There is such a variety of powers you get to use that you would have a hard time getting bored. Each chapter offers different powers, new puzzles, and a search for hidden bones (an achievement for finding all of them). I found the game to be fairly easy and only got hung up on a couple puzzles for more then a couple minutes. There is one challenge in this game that might take ya a while to get (Death Defier, Complete 22 levels without dying) and is only worth 5G. So if you enjoy carefree fun games, are just looking for a nice break from your action filled games, or a quick and easy 195G, I think you will enjoy this one.

The Forgotten Chapters DlC adds 7 new chapters and 50 achievement points. The play is just like the rest of the game, if you liked it as I did, you will enjoy these added levels. The biggest addition to the game-play in this DLC is the addition of a new mount in the 5th new chapter. Having played the rest of the game you should run through this in about a half hour to an hour, depending on how much the new mount throws you off your game. You get 50G achievements just for playing through the new chapters, so at just a 160 MSP, I think this is a bargain and a must buy if you enjoyed the main game.

Fortunately, neither the platforming nor the puzzles are especially difficult. Yet, when put together with the funny dialog and a unique inventory system, they make for a great game mechanic. The game is split into seven sections as you help each tribe of the Ooga free themselves from the Boolis. Each of the seven tribes has a unique strength and abilities that you will need to complete their levels. A few examples of the tribe’s abilities are that one has extremely hard heads that can break through thin floors, another can fly, and another can walk through poison clouds.

In each of the tribe’s areas you will need to convince them to join the fight against the Boolis, and then to bring back their leader who has a special attack they can use to clear their tribe’s land of the Boolis. While this formula is repeated seven yet I never found it overly repetitive. The different abilities and the funny dialog keep the levels fresh and there is very little of doing the same actual objectives throughout the different tribe’s sections. Considering the game has over 50 levels it is a real treat to not be doing the exact same objectives over every few levels.

As you work through the puzzles in each level you will find and collect different objects to unlock doors. Instead of having an inventory system or a pack the Oogas just put everything in their mouth. Your mouth can hold both objects needed for the level’s completion or other Oogas. There is no limit to the number of items you can carry around in your mouth but some items do have side effects. For example putting a pepper in your mouth will result in belching fire. At times these side-effects play into the puzzles and other times they just are funny unintended consequences.

Ancients of Ooga’s split screen co-op is a lot of fun. Because the game pretty clean and you never run out of lives it is great to play with the family. The game is fairly simple, but completionists will find themselves playing levels over to get every hidden object and to complete without dying. For $10 I found Ancients of Ooga to be a really fun game and a great way to spend the weekend.

So compared with other titles you have a bit depth in every scenery. The levels itself are clear designed with lots of funny animated sprites. Music is very good. So you jump and run through the levels and get able to use some funny abilities of the different trees youll meet (flooding the level, fire fireballs, through bombs and such stuff). Everything fits in this game. Atmosphere, gameplay, character setup and story. Worth its money. Give it at least a try (play it, not just have a short look!)

Graphics: 8/10 (sometimes stuttering framerate, but very cool animations at all)
Soundeffects: 8/10 (fitting well)
Music: 9/10 (dschungel-themed)
Gameplay: 9/10 (everything is in flow)
Overall: 8.5/10 (plus an additional 0.5 due to different endings in this game)
