If you're looking for a platformer you can play through in a single sitting, this is not the game for you. Super Meat Boy is the most unforgiving game I have ever played. This is why I love Super Meat Boy so much.
There are over 200 levels in this game and each level is harder than the last believe it or not. A key feature you have to be spot on with is the timing of your jumps and whether to make it a 'boosted' jump or not. Not only do you have to worry about an innumerable amount of stationary hazards, there are tons of flying obstacles such as sawblades, bullets and even homing missile type things.
Story-wise this games is maybe not the most in-depth thing but it is hilarious to watch unfold in the non-talking scenes between worlds. Story: Dr. Fetus steals your Girlfriend and you are on a journey to get her back. To complete a level you have to reach your Girlfriend. Once you reach her at the end of the level however, Dr. Fetus pops up and takes her away to the next level.
For each level you get under par time on, there is a dark version of that level which is harder than it's light world counterpart. I'm not saying the Light World levels are easy by any means, but the Dark World versions of the levels are just that much harder.
Overall, this game is for the inner masochist in all of us. You will die hundreds of times, maybe even thousands of times, maybe hundreds of thousands of times if you're dead set on beating every level in the Light and Dark worlds. This is worth the full 1200 MSP asking price, there is no doubt in my mind about that. But that being said, and as always, if you can get it for cheaper BUY IT!
